About Mrs. Sandberg:

Your Teacher, Mrs. Sandberg

Hello! I would like to introduce myself. My name is actually "Marla Kay" but I go by Katie.  (You will see Marla on grade reports.) I have taught at Dry Creek since it opened and I love it here.  This will be my 13th year as a teacher. It is my passion. I love learning and sharing knowledge and I love the kids!

I am married and have been for, ahem, 37 years! We have 5 children and are semi-empty nesters. Presently, our babies at home are the dogs, Bolt, a Samoyed/Cocker/Poodle mix, and Wally, a Shi Tsu, whom I found and rescued.

We lived in Washington prior to Utah for 17 years. I taught jazz, ballet and tap during that time, and then pursued my teaching degree when my youngest was 13.

I am a grandma, and LOVE being that! I am a storyteller, and often share antidotes with my students about some of my experiences in life, things my dogs do,  and things my adorable grandchildren do.

Along with teaching, I run the drama club at the school and started that last year.
